Misato Komatsubara: Born in Okayama on July 28th, 1992
Takeru Komatsubara (Tim Koleto): Born in Colorado Springs in June 1991. A naturalized citizen of Japan since 2020.
Since Misato and Takeru teamed up in 2016, the ice dancing pair climbed the charts year by year in the Japan Figure Skating Championships and is now the competition’s three-time defending gold medalist since the 2018-19 season. The team is also a two-time bronze medalist in the ISU Challenger Series and the first Japanese duo to win the NHK Trophy of the ISU Grand Prix series. Their performance at the 2021 World Figure Skating Championships made them the first Japanese ice dance team in twelve years to win a spot in the Winter Olympics. Married since 2017, Misato and Takeru walk hand in hand toward their dream.
