With a love of tennis since the age of 10, Hibino became a professional tennis player in 2013. She won her first career title in 2015 when she won the Tashkent Open, earning her a No. 78 in the WTA rankings. Hibino then competed in the quarterfinals at the ASB Classic 2016, which then pushed her rank up to No. 56. In 2017 she won her first doubles title at Abierto GNP Seguros and also won her first singles match at the US Open for the first time. In 2019 Hibino became the first tennis player to win both the singles and doubles titles at the Japan Open, then in 2020 she won the first round at both the Australia Open and the French Open for the first time.
Hibino has previously ranked 1st in the JTA rankings. She has also represented Japan at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
